We now have linguistic proof that Jesus was miraculously concieved by Mary and God. The original Hebrew name for
Mary was
Meryom. This was a highly unusual name at the time. It occured in only one other instance in
the Old Testament.
Meryom is also the name of Moses' sister. Recall now that Moses is an Egyptian name
given to him by the Pharoah's daughter. According to Catholic Encyclopedia Aaron is also a name of Egyptian origins.
By following this logic we can assume that Meryom was also given an Egyptian name. According to
www.touregypt.net pharoah Pepi I was also known as
Mery-Re, or "beloved of Re." From this we can conclude that the name
Meryom
means
Mery - yom, or "beloved of God."
Meryom was not a very popular name at the time because
of it's Egyptian langauge origins. Clearly Mary's parents were divinely inspired when they chose a name for her.
